    For the last six years the government has been “printing” new money–calling it quantitative easing–at the rate of almost a trillion dollars a year. That masks some of the inflation. If that money mostly went to Wall Street, the consumers only saw the prices being driven up by the folks with the money–the speculators in commodities.
